Kapal tersebut merupakan sarana transportasi antar kota Makasasar dengan pulau kecil di sekitarnya.
Dilansir Tribun-Video dari Kompas.com, terdapat 37 korban atas kejadian ini, 13 orang diantaranya meninggal, 24 lainnya selamat.
Korban meninggal dan selamat langsung dibawa ke RS TNI AL Jala Ammari dan RS Akademis.
Kabid Humas Polda Sulsel Kombes Polisi Dicky Sondani mengatakan, pihak kepolisian belum mengetahui persis berapa total penumpang kapal tersebut.
Namun data sementara menyatakan bahwa 13 orang meninggal, 24 orang selamat dan puluhan orang masih dalam pencarian.
"Jumlah total penumpang masih simpang siur, katanya ada yang bilang 70 orang dan ada pula yang bilang 60 orang. Tapi data sementara, 13 orang meninggal dunia dan 24 orang berhasil selamat," kata Dicky saat dihubungi.
Dicky menjelaskan bahwa sampai saat ini timnya bersama tim Basarnas masih lakukan pencarian korban.
"Belum diketahui pasti penyebab karangnya kapal tersebut, tetapi dugaan sementara akibat kelebihan muatan. Kita masih selidiki dan tim masih melakukan investigasi," tegasnya.

Dari informasi yang telah didapat, 13 korban tewas merupakan penumpang kapal yang hendak mudik ke Pulau Barrang Lompo.
Sebagian lagi merupakan warga Pulau Barrang Lompo yang hendak pulang setelah berbelanja keperluan Lebaran di Makassar.

4. Dg Ati 50 tahun

6. Suster Ati (Sudah ditemukan)
7. Rusdah 26 Tahun
8. Soraya 7 Tahun
9. Andriani 6 Tahun
Sementara korban yang selamat sebanyak 22 orang. Sembilan korban selamat berada di RS TNI AL yakni :
1. Hasnah umur 45 Tahun
2. Ishak 27 Tahun
3. Raodah 42 tahun
4. Ahmad umur 34 Tahun
5. Haeriah / Dewasa
6. Rahmayani 14 Tahun
7. Hasniah umur 23 Thn
8. Nurhikmah 17 Tahun
9. Calvin
Sedangkan sisanya dievakuasi dievakuasi ke Pulau Barrang Lompo 7 orang yaitu :
1. Darmiah 17 thn
2. Yusuf 40 tahun
3.Syam 28 tahun
4. Fahirah 17 tahun
5. Husnah 35 tahun
6. Sarmila 17 tahun
7. Nurwahidah 28 tahun.
Adapun korban yang korban meninggal yang dievakuasi ke Pulau Barrang Lompo :
